About Dr. Sony Sandhu
Dr. Sony Sandhu is a founding Doctor of Chiropractic at Newton Chiropractic Centre in Surrey, BC, bringing over 20 years of experience helping patients overcome sports injuries, chronic pain, and movement dysfunction. Born and raised in Fort St. James, BC, Dr. Sandhu discovered chiropractic care firsthand when doctors told him to quit competitive baseball due to a rotator cuff injury - chiropractic treatment not only saved his athletic career but inspired his calling to help others achieve similar recoveries. After completing his undergraduate studies at Simon Fraser University, Dr. Sandhu earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from University of Western States in Portland, Oregon (2000-2003), returning to Canada to establish Newton Chiropractic Centre where he has been providing expert care since 2003. At Newton Chiropractic Centre, Dr. Sandhu offers comprehensive chiropractic services including thorough initial consultations that focus on understanding your health concerns and developing personalized treatment plans to meet your specific goals. His treatment approach combines chiropractic adjustments with supportive therapies including interferential current, ultrasound, heat/ice therapy, soft tissue work, and therapeutic stretching, with each treatment plan tailored to your injury type and healing phase. Dr. Sandhu specializes in ICBC motor vehicle accident injury treatment with direct billing available, making quality chiropractic care accessible for car accident recovery, sports injury rehabilitation, and chronic pain management. As an active athlete who plays ice hockey 2-3 times weekly, tennis weekly, and maintains regular gym workouts, Dr. Sandhu personally understands the importance of spinal health and receives weekly chiropractic adjustments himself. This personal commitment to chiropractic wellness, combined with his extensive sports background and 20+ years of clinical experience, enables him to relate to patients dealing with sports injuries, workplace stress, and the physical demands of active lifestyles while providing the highest quality healthcare possible.
