Insurance & Billing
FisioMed is pleased to offer direct billing for physical therapy to a number of extended health carriers. Availability of this service is dependent on your carrier and/or plan. Please note that all treatment fees are the responsibility of the patient. If online direct billing is not available you will be asked to pay for your visit up front and we will provide you with a receipt which you can submit to your extended health carrier for reimbursement. We are only able to bill to your primary coverage insurance. If you have one plan for your family, we can bill directly. If you have two plans (both parents have coverage), we can only bill to your primary plan. For parents this would be their own workplace plan. For children this is generally the plan of the parent with the earlier birthday in the calendar year (regardless of the year of birth). You can learn the details of your coverage by contacting your extended health carrier or from your plan administrator. If your visit is partially covered we will bill the covered amount to the carrier and ask that you pay the balance of your visit at the end of each treatment. At this time FisioMed will bill 1 (one) third party carrier per visit (eg: 1 Extended Health Carrier or ICBC or MSP). Coordination of benefits is not available. FisioMed does not require a doctor’s referral however some plans do require one. Please check with your extended health carrier to learn your plan requirements. If you have an open insurance claim we cannot bill your visit to your extended health carrier if it is related to the open claim. You will need to pay for the treatment and seek reimbursement from your carrier. If your visit is denied for online direct billing we ask that your balance is paid in full at the end of each treatment. The front desk staff will advise you if your claim has been denied before you leave. Please note: some plans have restrictions that do not allow for online direct billing. FisioMed believes everyone should have easy access to health professionals who will help them meet their health goals and treat their various physical ailments. They offer integrated health professionals to their community in the most convenient way for their clients to regain and maintain independence in the comfort of their own home. They believe a patient’s ability to commute shouldn’t hold them back from accessing the proper treatment needed. Mobile physical therapy services can be scheduled at a time that is convenient for the patient, providing greater flexibility to better accommodate patient mobility and patient schedules. Licensed physical therapists assess, treat and rehab, all in the comfort and convenience of the patient’s own home, office, or other preferred location. No two patients are the same, no two therapy programs should be the same.

Pricing Information
For those who have had a total hip replacement (THR) or total knee replacement (TKR) through the UBC hospital, they are eligible for either 3 physiotherapy visits (THR) or 12 physiotherapy visits (TKR), paid for by Vancouver Coastal Health. If you have been involved in a car accident or work injury and are experiencing ongoing pain, you may be eligible for fully covered hydrotherapy sessions once approved by your adjuster. Additionally, many extended health plans cover physiotherapy, which can be utilized towards hydrotherapy sessions.
