Many of Criterion Wellness’s treatments are covered by Extended Health Benefits. Patients should check their insurance policy coverage details. Direct billing is a courtesy service of ICBC. It does not guarantee all billing will be approved by ICBC direct billing. If direct billing is rejected, the patient is responsible for paying for treatment and seeks reimbursement from their ICBC claims adjuster. Treatment must begin within 12 weeks of the accident date otherwise, you will need to contact an ICBC claims adjuster. A doctor’s referral is usually required for extending treatments. ICBC will not pay over the allotted amount approved regardless of how many sessions were completed. The number of assessments varies case by case. Patients cannot book more than one session for the same therapeutic type on the same day. Yes, if the therapeutic treatment is different (i.e. acupuncture and massage) this is possible. Late or last-minute cancellations are not covered. Before booking an appointment for orthotics, verify whether your insurance covers the cost, as direct billing is not offered for this service. Custom orthotics are non-refundable. A doctor’s note may be required for custom orthotics.
