Insurance & Billing
MSP coverage is subject to income and/or age thresholds. MSP typically allows for 10 combined visits for massage, physiotherapy, chiropractic, or acupuncture, reimbursing $23 per visit. ICBC coverage is immediate if the treatment is related to an MVA within the past twelve weeks. The coverage period ends twelve weeks from the accident date. Approved ICBC treatments include 12 sessions of massage therapy, 25 sessions of physiotherapy, 25 sessions of chiropractic care, 12 sessions of kinesiology, and 12 sessions of acupuncture. Initial massage visits must be one hour, and subsequent must be at least 45 minutes. There is a surcharge of $18 per visit for initial and subsequent 45-minute massage visits. WSBC covers chiropractic, physiotherapy, and acupuncture treatments (15 visits for the initial), with an end date set at six weeks from the initial visit, provided the treatment was within the past eight weeks. WSBC does not bill for kinesiology or massage therapy.
